Privacy policy

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy policy describes how Treebank collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use treebank.vn or the Treebank interface inside partner applications. Treebank processes personal data in accordance with Vietnamese personal data protection law.

2. Data we collect

• Direct donations: your full name, email address and anonymity preference (if any), provided when creating a transaction.
• Donations via partner apps: a user identifier, name and email (where available) passed by the partner so we can record your contribution history.
• Transaction data: transaction reference, number of trees, amount or points converted, campaign and timestamp.
• Technical data: access logs (IP address, browser type, access time) for security and operations.

Treebank does not collect or store your card or bank account details — transfers happen directly in your banking app.

3. How we use data

• Recording, reconciling and confirming donations.
• Issuing contribution certificates and displaying your name (unless you choose anonymity).
• Sending confirmation emails, certificates and — where you subscribe — periodic impact reports.
• Customer care, support and complaint handling.
• System security, fraud prevention and legal compliance.

4. Data sharing

Treebank does not sell your personal data. Data is shared only:

• With campaign partners: when you donate through a partner app, transaction results are exchanged between Treebank and that partner for confirmation and reconciliation.
• With service providers: infrastructure and email providers — under contract and only to the extent necessary.
• With state authorities: where required by law.

5. Storage and security

Data is stored on infrastructure located in Vietnam with safeguards including transport encryption (HTTPS), encryption of sensitive credentials at rest, internal access control and activity logging. Financial transactions are kept as immutable records for reconciliation.

6. Retention

Transaction and certificate data is retained for the life of the Platform to keep certificates verifiable and meet reconciliation obligations. Technical logs are kept for short periods for security purposes. When data is no longer needed, Treebank deletes or anonymises it.

7. Your rights

• Request access to, a copy of, or correction of your personal data.
• Request deletion or withdraw consent, except for data Treebank must retain by law or for financial reconciliation.
• Choose anonymity when donating — your name will not be displayed publicly.
• Unsubscribe from reports/emails at any time via the link in each email or by contacting Treebank.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

The Platform uses cookies/local storage minimally — to remember your language and keep sessions stable. Treebank does not use cross-site advertising cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser; some features may then work incompletely.

9. Children's data

The Platform is not directed at people under 16. If we learn that a child's data was collected without the required parental/guardian consent, Treebank will delete it.

10. Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time; the latest version is always published on this page with its update date. For material changes, Treebank will give clear notice on the Platform.
